Friday 12th June is the official launch of BTL's latest service addition linking the transshipment port of Kaoshiung to Cebu and Manila.
With this entry BTL follows its earlier announced 'the Tiger goes East' policy.
''The trade to Cebu has been growing and BTL's entry with larger tonnage is a commitment following the requests to our clientship to ensure the market is reliably covered at all times." commented Joachim von der Heydt, BTL Chairman.
"We are very pleased by the warm reception we have received from the trade for this latest service development and we are glad to be working with our agents 'Go Tiger' in Taiwan and 'Sino Cargo Works' in the Philippines."
Bengal Tiger Line, a specialist Common Feeder Operator, more renown for its Indian Sub Continent operations, is now registered in Singapore and majority owned by the Schoeller Group of Cyprus.
Operating only SOC containers, the line has already successfully extended its Chennai coverage as far as Korea and China via their ACS service.
In 2009 BTL carried 800,000 teus and remains a medium sized reputable carrier with solid foundations.
"Our aim is to do a good job with reliable vessels and sufficient frequency for Main Line's connectivity at the hub ports - afterall we are a neutral operator serving as the prolongated arm of the long haul carriers." quoted von der Heydt.
