THE Port of Shenzhen handled 3.85 million TEU during the first four months of the year, up 32.4 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to figures released by the Shenzhen Port Authority.

The authority's figures also showed over the January through April period that Yantian Port handled 1.774 million TEU, up 18.8 per cent year-on-year; Chiwan handled 726,800 TEU, up 61 per cent; Shekou handled 620,000 TEU, up 61.7 per cent.

In April, Shenzhen handled 1.06 million TEU.

Meanwhile, customs facilities at Yantian Port are now open 24 hours a day, according to a Xinhua report.
