FUZHOU City in Fujian Province will start constructing five to six deep water berths, according to Xinhua.

At the moment, Fuzhou has two berths - a 50,000 ton berth in Jiangyin port area, and a 30,000 ton berth in Songxia port area.

The new berths will be located in Jiangyin, Songxia, Luoyuanwan and Changle Yangyu port areas and will range from 20,000 tons to 30,000 tons.

When completed, it is expected that Fuzhou will become a regional logistics centre for trade with Taiwan.
